OASIS seeks member comments on draft charters for six new SCA TCs

Members of OASIS Open CSA have submitted draft charters for six new Technical Committees to advance development of the Service Component Architecture (SCA) family of specifications:

  • SCA Policy TC, convened by Michael Rowley of BEA;
  • SCA Assembly TC, convened by Jeff Mischkinsky of Oracle;
  • SCA Bindings TC convened by Mike Edwards of IBM;

OASIS Forms Open CSA Member Section

OASIS announces the formation of its Open Composite Services Architecture (Open CSA) Member Section. This group will oversee several new OASIS Technical Committees that will be chartered to promote the further development and adoption of the Service Component Architecture (SCA) and Service Data Objects (SDO) families of specifications.

Service Component Architecture (SCA)

Service Component Architecture (SCA) is a set of specifications which describe a model for building applications and systems using a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). SCA extends and complements prior approaches to implementing services, and SCA builds on open standards such as Web services.

Steering Committee Elections

An election is now underway to fill the three empty seats:

  • Nominations will be open until 11:45 PM EDT on 7 May 7 2007.
  • There will be one week for "campaigning" after nominations close.
  • Balloting will be electronic and last a week starting 14 May 2007 and closing at 11:45 PM EDT on 21 May 21 2007.
